“Hello everyone, I need help. This afternoon while I was working my HP laptop gave me a BSOD with an UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION. After restarting my computer I noticed that the WiFi wasn't working, I checked the device manager and sure enough it showed a problem with the WiFi adapter: "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. How to fix error code 52 about Generic PnP Monitor and High Definition Audio Controller on windows 10？
Way 1. Disable driver signature enforcement and Reinstall drivers
Step 1. Press and hold the Shift key on your keyboard and click the Restart button.
Step 2. Choose Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings and click the Restart button.
Step 3. When your computer restarts you’ll see a list of options. Press F7 on your keyboard to select Disable driver signature enforcement.
Step 4. Your computer will now restart and you’ll be able to install unsigned drivers.Now you can use the latest version of Driver Talent to install the most suitable driver for you.
Step 5. Scan Windows 10 for updated Driver and choose all to update.
Step 6. Reboot your computer to put these drivers into effect.
Way 2. Disable driver signature enforcement and Fallback drivers
Step 1. Repeat the first four steps of Way 1.
Step 2. On Device Manager, find the problematic driver.
Step 3. Right click the device and click Properties.
Step 4. When you see the Properties window, click the Driver tab.
Step 5. You will see the Roll Back Driver button, click that.
Step 6. Confirm the rollback by clicking Yes when you see a question that says "Are you sure you would like to roll back to the previously installed driver software?"
Step 7. Restart your computer after this.
Way 3. Delete the UpperFilters and LowerFilters Registry Values
Deleting the UpperFilters and LowerFilters registry values from the Windows Registry can help resolve a lot of error codes in Device Manager including the error code 52. If you have disabled the driver signature enforcement but the error code 52 is still there, you can try this method as well. Do as follows.
Step 1. Use shortcuts Windows + R to launch Run. Type “regedit” into the box and hit Enter to run it.
Step 2. Navigate to the following Registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000}
Step 3. Find UpperFilters and LowerFilters in the right window. Then right click on them to select Delete.
Step 4. After deleting the UpperFilters and LowerFilters registry values successfully, restart your computer to let the change take effect.
Note: You’d better back up the registry before you make any changes in Windows Registry. Then if issues occur after the changes, you can quickly resolve the issues by restoring the registry.
Way 4. Use System Recovery
You can use System Recovery to roll back the system to a time without errors to eliminate the problem. The method of use is as follows:
Step 1. Log in with an administrator account.
Step 2. Right-click the start button, and then click settings.
Step 3. Click Update & Security, and then click Recovery.
