The first thing you need to check is your audio settings. Ensure that your microphone and headphones are properly connected and configured. Follow the steps below to check your audio settings.
1. Press the Windows key + I to open Settings.
2. Click on System, then select Sound.
3. Ensure that your headphones are selected as the output device.
4. Click on Device properties and ensure that the volume is set to maximum.
5. Click on Additional device properties, and ensure that the microphone is selected as the input device.
6. Check the volume of the microphone and ensure that it is set to maximum.
If the audio settings are correct, move on to the next step.
Sometimes, the privacy settings on your computer may prevent apps from accessing your microphone and headphones. Follow the steps below to check your privacy settings
1. Press the Windows key + I to open Settings.
2. Click on Privacy.
3. On the left side of the screen, click on Microphone.
4. Ensure that Allow apps to access your microphone setting is turned on.
5. Scroll down to Choose which apps can access your microphone and ensure that Xbox Game Bar is listed and turned on.
6. Repeat steps 3-5 but select Headset for the input device.
If the privacy settings are correct, move on to the next step.
Outdated audio drivers can cause a variety of problems, including issues with Xbox Game Bar party chat. Follow these steps to update your audio drivers:

1. Press the Windows key + X and select Windows PowerShell (Admin).
2. Type the following command and press Enter:
Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxGamingOverlay | Remove-AppxPackage
3. Wait for PowerShell to remove Xbox Game Bar.
4. Go to the Microsoft Store and search for Xbox Game Bar.
5. Select Install and wait for the installation to complete.
