Windows 10 Coexists with Windows 11

People now are able to upgrade to the first Windows 11 Insider Preview build, namely Build 22000.51, from the Dev Channel. For many people, this is an exciting news to take their steps into a brand new Windows world. However, for a few people whose devices do not meet the minimum hardware requirements, they may be more worried about whether the new generation of Windows will end the Windows 10 they are using.
Peaceful Coexistence
A good news is that Windows 10 will coexist with Windows 11, at least in the coming years. Microsoft has claimed on its official website that “we have committed to supporting Windows 10 through October 14, 2025.” In other words, people who are now using Windows 10 can still stay on Windows 10, if they do not want to or their devices do not meet the requirements for Windows 11. This has also been confirmed by Wangui McKelvey, General Manager of Microsoft 365.
As you make the move to Windows 11, we will continue to support you as you use Windows 10. In fact, we will release Windows 10, version 21H2 in the second half of 2021 with new updates to current features that enable hybrid work like Universal Print and enhancements to management and deployment features like Windows Autopilot. After releasing the Windows 10 May 2021 Update (version 21H1), Microsoft will still release the Windows 10 21H2 according to the original plan. Thanks to version 21H2, users of Windows 10 will be able to have access to new updates to some current features and have a better hybrid work or study experience. Microsoft will not end the innovation of Windows 10 although they focus on the big upgrade, Windows 11.
Make Preparations for Windows Update
It is not uncommon to encounter the problems like “a required CD/DVD driver is missing”, “video drivers are outdated”, or “wireless network driver is not working” after updating Windows. To solve these problems, it is recommended to install drivers which are well-matched with your computer.
