Step 1. Press shortcut key Windows + R to open the Run dialog box. Then type “services.msc” in it and hit Enter to run it.

Step 2. Find Background Intelligent Transfer Service and right click it to select Stop.

Step 3. Find Windows Update and also right click it to select Stop.

Step 4. Launch File Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution. Then remove all the files in it.

Step 5. Press Windows + X and click Windows PowerShell (Admin) to launch the Windows PowerShell.

Step 6. Run the following commands one by one to reset the Software Distribution folder:
